Queer Urbanism explores the intersection of queer theory and informal economies through La Tianguis Disidente in Mexico City. This year-long project culminated in a book documenting the site’s physical qualities through conceptual plans and sections. The work articulates the tianguis as both a space of labor and political resistance, rejecting state authority. Spanning three periods of architectural vitality—from the Aztec empire to post-Olympic modernism to contemporary Mexico—the project highlights the role of queer and trans bodies in shaping urban life, asserting their right to space, labor, and leisure.
